Well-Child Visits: Why Are They Important?

Following the recommended schedule of well-child visits with your family primary care provider can have a wide range of benefits for you and your child.

What is a well-child visit? It is a physical examination recommended at regular intervals based on the rate of growth during childhood. Immunizations, screening tests, and discussion about your child’s development are all part of these check-ups.

Well-child visits are a good time to raise concerns with your child’s primary care provider. Bring your questions about sleep, eating, or other behaviors.

These check-ups are important for all children, even if they’re healthy. They are an opportunity to improve care and prevent future problems, as well as to develop a strong relationship between the provider, parent and child.

Call HDH Family Care at 541-573-2074 today to schedule your child’s next appointment.

It’s helpful to remember that even if our child is healthy that bringing them in for regular checkups can help us identify and prevent issues down the road. We’re coming up on my wife’s due date next month and want to be ready when our daughter comes. Taking her to a doctor frequently would help us be able to keep her healthy.
