VISITORS

Harney District Hospital provides full laboratory services. All samples are bar-coded for accuracy and results are passed on to your healthcare provider as quicky as possible.

Most tests require specific instructions. Please follow your healthcare provider and lab instructions carefully. In most cases, your exam results will be inaccurate if those instructions aren't followed and another test will be necessary.

PATIENT REQUESTED TESTING

The Harney District Hospital (HDH) Laboratory now offers Patient Requested Testing for its patients.

* Cholesterol; $10
* Lipid Profile (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL and calculated ratios); $25
* Hemaglobin & Hematocrit; $10
* Drug Screen (non-legal w/out alcohol); $35
* Glucose; $10
* Pregnancy; $12

Patients can simply walk-in, fill out a short lab form at the admissions desk and receive any of the above tests. Fees are paid at the time of service; your insurance will not be billed.

While there has consistently been a need for blood for trauma and accident victims, people are now living longer and surviving illnesses like cancer. Improving cure rates is good news, but patients often need blood transfusions to remain in recovery.

The next time you hear the Red Cross is in town, don't ignore the need for a more plentiful blood supply. Give regularly.
