April 7, 2018 marked a significant milestone for Harney County Health District. At 3 a.m. that morning, we transitioned to a new electronic health record called Epic. With this transition, you now have the same electronic health record whether you receive care at HDH Family Care, as an inpatient at Harney District Hospital, or in the emergency room. Because Epic is used by the majority of hospitals in Oregon, and is one of the most commonly-used systems in the United States, doctors in other Epic hospitals will be able to easily access your electronic health record to aid in providing you care.
Another great benefit of having Epic is MyChart, our new patient portal that allows you access to your medical record. You can send messages to your providers, request a referral to a specialist, request a renewal of current medications, see details about future appointments, request appointments at HDH Family Care and complete most of the check-in process from home.
