18 May Beware of scam phone calls
Recently there have been reports of people receiving telephone calls that appear to be coming from Harney District Hospital (HDH) or HDH Family Care asking for social security numbers or other information. These calls could be scams.
The public is reminded to be cautious – if a call appears to come from HDH and is requesting personal information, there are several options. You can:
- Give the information if you are confident of who is calling;
- Hang up and call back — the main phone number for HDH is 541-573-7281, and HDH Family Care can be reached at 541-573-2074;
- Tell the caller you will give the information in person.
